“Dragon Scale” Calcite with Iridescent Chalcopyrite | Sweetwater Mine, Missouri

A rare Sweetwater Mine specimen featuring sharply formed, elongated golden calcite blades rising from a densely textured matrix coated in natural iridescent chalcopyrite.

The calcite crystals are well-defined and translucent with soft honey-yellow saturation and crisp terminations. Beneath them, overlapping micro-crystals create the signature “dragon scale” texture — a reptilian surface formed by tightly packed calcite and glittering chalcopyrite.
